Limelight Scripts has taken the decision to cease offering the option of printed scripts in favour of electronic downloads only.
This is something we’ve been considering doing for a while, due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of our customers now opt for a digital download. This comes as an editable word doc which makes it easy for them to edit our fabulous pantomime scripts to suit their own group’s particular needs.
The decline in customers asking for printed scripts has reached the point where we often get only a couple of requests for printed scripts per year. The world changes and businesses must go along with their customers preferences, whether it be electronic downloads or electronic payments.
When Limelight Scripts first started, virtually all orders were for hard copy scripts, and all payments made by customers were in the form of cheques. Then PayPal came along and we added that to our list of payment options and it quickly overtook cheque payments. Now with the advent of mobile banking apps affording quick and easy direct payments, PayPal is rarely used by customers these days.
Whenever Jackie is speaking with customers and informs them of our decision to go with strictly digital scripts, she’s often told that in rehearsals more and more people are using tablets and mobiles instead of a paper script, which can often get damaged or lost. Like we said before, the world is always changing, and technology is currently driving that change.
Of course change is nothing new to the world of pantomime, as it has constantly changed and innovated to keep up with the latest trends in society, and yet still somehow manages to retain all the traditional qualities that make it as popular now as it’s ever been. It truly is the chameleon of the theatrical world.
2026 is shaping up out to be one of our best years ever, and we would like to thank all those groups who have chosen one of our pantomime scripts for their next show.
Break a leg everyone!
